Anthropologist and Native American Chief. William Beynon was a hereditary Tsimshian chief and anthropologist who worked with half a dozen other anthropologists including the illustrious Franz Boas and Philip Drucker in describing the ways of life of Northwest Coast American Indians. Many consider him the world's leading expert on the Tsimshian people. Among his numerous works is "The Tsimshians of Metlakatla, Alaska" published in the American Anthropologist.
