He was one of the founders of the Muslim Democratic Organization. He was the president of the municipality of Mostar in 1935, a senator of the Kingdom of Yugoslavia, the president of the "Vakuf-Mearif Assembly" in Sarajevo until 1945, a fighter against the Cvetković- Maček, initiator of the Muslim resolution of the city of Mostar from 1941, anti-fascist, and member of the 3rd session of "AVNOJ" and "ZANOBIH." At the 3rd session of "AVNOJ," Ćišić submitted the unadopted amendment on Bosniak national rights. He was a member of the Federal Council until his death. Ćišić authored many books and studies.
Husaga Ćišić died on August 30, 1956 in Mostar and was buried in one of Mostar's old Muslim cemeteries. After the usurpation of the cemetery by communist authorities the remains of Husaga Ćišić were transferred to the Sutina City Cemetery in Mostar.
