David B. Borgerding, 80, of Belgrade, died Wednesday, May 18, 2022, at his home in Belgrade. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, May 26, 2022 at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church in Belgrade. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday at the Johnson Funeral Home in Belgrade where there will be a 4:00 p.m. parish prayer service and 7:00 p.m. rosary. Visitation will continue for one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial with military honors will be in the church cemetery.

David Bernard Borgerding was born November 30, 1941 in Freeport, the son of Ambrose and Teresa (Holdvogt) Borgerding. He grew up in Belgrade where he attended St. Peter and Paul Catholic grade school and Belgrade High School. After school he served in the Army National Guard for many years before retiring as a Sergeant. On October 12, 1963, Dave was united in marriage to Irma Fuechtmann at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in New Munich. They made their home in Belgrade where he farmed and drove truck before starting his custom farming business. He retired in 2012 due to health issues.

Dave was a member of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church where he served as an usher. He enjoyed playing cards, deer hunting, making rosaries, puzzles and watching his grandchildren and great-grandchildren's sporting events live or through livestream.

Dave is survived by his wife, Irma of 58 years; children, Renee (Darin) Mahlow, June (Roger) Boie, Jan (Jim) Finazzo and Gary (Jane) Borgerding; ten grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; siblings, Judy (Romy) Walz, Evie (Stan) Stalboerger, Susan Lieser, Kathy (Dan) Imdieke, Norie (Lou) DeSotel, Marcia (Mike) Lieser, Karen (Ron) Brietbach, Joe (Toni) Borgerding, Marv (Ginny) Borgerding and Doris (Joe) Woolcott and brother-in-law, David Crain. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ambrose and Teresa; step-mother, Jessie Borgerding; sister, Irene Crain and brothers-in-law, Larry Thielen and Larry Lieser.
