Cải Lương stage actor and singer. He was best known for his roles such as Thừa in "Tiếng Hò Sông Hậu," Trần Hùng in "Tìm Lại Cuộc Đời," and Trùm Sò in "Ngao Sò Ốc Hến." He was born Trần Ngọc Châu to a poor farming family in Chợ Lách. At the age of 16, he began his acting career by joining the Hương Mùa Thu troupe. Throughout his career, he starred in many theater productions such as "Gánh Cỏ Sông Hàn," "Ánh Lửa Rừng Khuya," "Con Cò Trắng," "Tình Mẫu Tử," "Khách Sạn Hào Hoa," and "Tiếng Súng Một Giờ Khuya" with his colleagues such as Diệp Lang, Ngọc Hương, Lệ Thủy, Thanh Tuấn, Thanh Kim Huệ, and Ngọc Hiền, to whom he was married and with whom he had three children. In addition to his stage career, he recorded vọng cổ songs. Due to health issues, he retired from acting on stage. Three months after his death, he was posthumously awarded "People's Artist" by the Vietnamese government.
