An 84-year-old local woman was found dead on the floor of the kitchen of her home Thursday evening and death was attributed to a heart attack. She was identified as Mrs. Letitia J. Smith, 356 N. First St. Sgt. Charles V. Davis said Mrs. Smith's body was discovered after an entrance was forced to her home. He said police were called to the home by Mrs. Smith's nephew, Randall Peiffer, 56 Fox Ann Drive, Hershey. Peiffer said he was unable to contact his aunt by telephone. The police report said that Mrs. Smith may have been washing dishes when she was fatally stricken. Dr. Heisey listed a coronary occlusion as the cause of death. Police said Mrs. Smith may have been dead since Wednesday because a newspaper of that date was still at her door. [Lebanon Daily News, Friday June 4, 1971]
