Gertrude Lillian Landauer, 87, of Forest Grove, Oregon passed away on Sunday, March 2, 2008 at her home in Forest Grove
The Funeral Mass is scheduled for Thursday, March 6, at 11:00 A.M. also at Visitation Catholic Church.
Family and friends are invited to a reception to follow the services to be held at the Parish Center.
Christian burial and vault interment will be held on Thursday, March 6, 2008 at St. Francis Assisi Catholic Cemetery in Roy, Oregon.
Gertrude Lillian Landauer was born on February 7, 1921, one of eight children, to Joseph A. and Nellie (Vanderzanden) Spiering in the Greenville community of Forest Grove, Oregon.
She was raised and received her education in the Roy, Oregon area, having attended St. Francis of Assisi school. She was raised Roman Catholic.
Gertrude was united in marriage to Henry John Landauer on May 12, 1941 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Roy, Oregon. The young couple started Floralan Nursery in 1942 at the property they rented after they married. In 1943 they purchased their present farm in Kansas City, Oregon, where they had raised their five children.

Gertrude had many talents. She helped her husband on the family farm, was a homemaker, ran a floral arranging business out of the home, as well as sewed wedding dresses and formal wear.
Among her special interests, Gertrude loved growing her flowers, was an avid clam-digger, enjoyed traveling (including Germany, Switzerland, Canada, Alaska, Norway, Hawaii and the San Juan Islands). She also enjoyed her collections of coffee pots, flat iron, plates and thimbles.
Gertrude was preceded in death by her parents; her four sisters and three brothers.
She is survived by her husband of over 66 years, Henry John Landauer, of the family farm in Kansas City, Oregon; two daughters and a son-in-law, Kathleen Nelson of Sublimity, Oregon; Eileen and Mark Michaels of Palo Alto, California; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Ken and Katrina Landauer of Hillsboro, Oregon; Larry and Marilyn Landauer of Roy, Oregon; and Art Landauer of Forest Grove, Oregon. She is also survived by nine grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.
