Verlene K. Schuller Born Oct 27, 1943, in Pocahontas Iowa to Elwood and Mildred Gilleland. She attended Pocahontas Catholic; being at the top of her class, she had to tutored some of her classmates in those days, no one was left behind. She went to the University of Iowa for one year. Then married her current husband and moved to Chicago ILL., where she worked at United Airline while her husband worked for American Airlines. After I year in Illinois, this city girl moved to a crop and livestock farm in Mallard, Iowa for many new experiences to which she quickly adapted to. After thirteen years she arrived in Willows, Ca., which she loves, and calls home. While raising a family of two wonderful boys, John and Matthew. She worked for the 1st national bank in the corporate office in Chico, then FDIC when the bank closed. After that moved to Golden Peasant Best Western as comptroller. Then a large farmer In Hamilton city and finished as bookkeeper at the Willows Elks. While doing all this she took care of all the accounting for her own Orchards and Rice while battling leukemia for 25+ years. During her life she traveled to many of the United States, several countries in Europe, Australia, and Canada. One tough lady and the love of my life. Her hobbies where golf, woodworking and oil painting. Survived by 8 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
