HECKER - Helen Hecker went to meet her Savior early Friday morning at Memorial Medical Center of Ludington. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul, after 69 years of marriage. She is survived by her son, Paul Gene, wife Bonnie, two grandchildren; Jeffrey (Roxie), and Laura, as well as many nieces and nephews. She was the last survivor of a large family of 11 brothers and sisters. For her entire life she was very active and enjoyed many sports. She loved the outdoors in general. She was a former member of Westminster Presbyterian Church in Grand Rapids. Her faith was a great consolation and comfort to her. Helen had outstanding social skills and will be missed by many, having had friends in both Grand Rapids and the Manistee area. She was 89 years old, and enjoyed a life of excellent health. Her family will receive visitors Tuesday 2 to 4 p.m. at the Arsulowicz Brothers, Remembrance Chapel, 3525 Remembrance NW, followed by funeral services at 4 p.m. Interment Rosedale Memorial Park. Memorials are suggested to the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society.
