Francis "Frank" Agius
September 04, 1928 - January 14, 2008
Petaluma, California

Passed away in his much loved home in Petaluma on Monday, January 14, 2008, and now at peace with his beloved Chick. Devoted father of Frank Agius of Clearlake, Michele Michl of Redding, and Cathe Miller of Petaluma. Father-in-law of Mick Michl and Denise Agius. Adored Gramp of Tim Miller and Cathy Feraday Miller of San Francisco, Joseph Agius and Amanda McRae, Justin Agius and Jeffrey Agius, all of Clearlake, and Severine Michl of Redding. Proud Great-Gramp of Anthony Joseph McRae Agius of Clearlake. Also survived by his devoted sisters and brothers, Angela, Mary, Ruth, Tom and Jim. Predeceased by siblings Joseph, Margaret, John and Angelo. Son of the late Angelo and Catherine Agius. Also survived by his extended Agius and Colaizzi families.

A Petaluma native, Frank and his brother Jim, along with their wives, Chick and Topsy, owned Agius Grocery on Bodega Avenue for 39 years. Frank became a friend to all who passed through those doors. He loved to hunt. He loved raising sheep and cattle. He loved playing the ponies, going "over the hill" to Reno and Boomtown to play cards, and relaxing at the family cabin in Sierra City. And he loved, along with his wife Chick, hosting many a great party for family and friends. Frank was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Church and Nicasio Parlor #183 N.S.G.W. The family wishes to thank Frank's loving extended family and friends who gave him their love and support, his wonderful caregivers, especially Susan Tremblay and Sandy Flowers, and his doctors (so many!) who extended to him their respect of his strength to survive. He was a passionate and famously opinionated man, but was as true and loyal a man as most who have had the good fortune to know and love him will ever know.

Friends are invited to meet on Monday, January 21, 2008, at 11:00 a.m., at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 35 Liberty Street, Petaluma, where a Funeral Mass will be celebrated. Friends are also invited to attend the Vigil Service, Sunday. January 20, 2008, at 3:30 p.m., at the PARENT-SORENSEN MORTUARY & CREMATORY, 850 Keokuk St., Petaluma. Visitation will also be held on Sunday, January 20, 2008, from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the mortuary. Private Inurnment. Those who prefer may contribute to Hospice of Petaluma, 416 Payran Street, Petaluma, CA 94952, or to St. Vincent de Paul Church, 35 Liberty Street, Petaluma, CA 94952, or to their favorite charity, in memory of Frank Agius. The family also hopes that all will consider organ donation by signing up with the donor registry for DONATE LIFE CALIFORNIA at www.donateLIFEcalifornia.org.
