Funeral services for Walter C. Wieland, 57, well known farmer of the Princeville community, who passed away unexpectedly January 29, in the Methodist Hospital in Peoria, were held in the Princeville Apostolic Christian Church with Rev. Art Gudeman and Rev. Roy Sauder officiating.
Burial was in the church cemetery. Pallbearers were Michael Burgess, Gene Wieland, James Cheako, Jordan Wieland, Don Paul, Jack Morlock and Norman Wieland.
Born in Edelstein September 17, 1911, to Henry and Katie Streitmatter Wieland, he was married to Margaret Kneer in Peoria May 22, 1936. She preceded him in death May 17, 1968.
Surviving are two daughters, Dolores at home, and Mrs. Jack (Kay) Summer of Princeville, two sons, Bob of Wyoming and John of Speer; a granddaughter; a brother, Henry of Dunlap and two sisters, Mrs. William Huber of Princeville and Mrs. Katherine Baer of Dunlap.
He was preceded in death by two brothers.
