Bob attended St. Thomas High School where he excelled in sports and was named an ALL-STATE Offensive Lineman in his senior year. After graduating from high school, Bob attended Texas A&M and graduated from the College of Business in 1956.

Bob worked for Gulf Oil Company for 28 years before retiring in 1985 when they were purchased by Chevron Corporation. Bob then secured a teaching certificate and began a second career as a computer science teacher, first at Crosby High School and then at Scarborough High School in the Houston Independent School District. After his second retirement in 2003, Bob fully enjoyed time in Crosby with his wife, children and grandchildren – and his garden and his numerous pets.

Bob was preceded in death by his mother and father, George and Alyene Luquette; sister, Louise T. Yeates; brothers, George F. Luquette and Roland A. Luquette.

Bob is survived by his wife of 59 years Elsie, of Crosby; daughter, Vicki Luquette of Houston; son Stephen Luquette of Clear Lake; Grandchildren include Travis Chappell, Zackary Luquette, Lauren (Dylan) Vitello, Caleb Luquette; one great-grandchild, Emma Vitello; and many nieces and nephews.

Robert Luquette was a good man, a good husband, a good father, and a good friend. He will be missed.

A Memorial Service will be held Friday, March 6 at 10:00 a.m. at Kingwood Funeral Home, 22800 Highway 59 N Kingwood, Texas 77339. A reception and time of fellowship will follow service. Guests are invited to bring remembrances for sharing. In lieu of flowers, a donation to one's charity of choice in Bob's name is suggested.
