Clara Ellen House, 82, of Lavaca died Wednesday, Oct. 2, 2002, in Lavaca. She was born March 5. 1920, in Arbuckle Island in Sebastian County to the late John Calvin Elkins and Georgia Ann Barnes. She was a homemaker and a member of First Assembly of God in Lavaca. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jessie Dalphia House; and a son, Billy Woodrow "Woody" House. Funeral will be 2 p.m. today at First Assembly of God in Lavaca with burial at Measles Cemetery in Lavaca with the Rev. Mark Bearden, the Rev. R.L. Grinder and the Rev. Grant Ethridge officiating under the direction of Smith Mortuary of Charleston. She is survived by five daughters, Delca Hewitt of Springdale, Eunice Waggoner of Fort Smith, Betty Berry of Charleston, Wilma Watson of Paris and Connie Cox of Lavaca; a son, J.D. House of Lavaca; 17 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Alan Bearden, Dennis Waggoner, Delbert, DeWayne and Dale Berry, Johnny House and Chris Watson. Times Record Online
