Originally buried in a local Highland, Illinois cemetery, his father's diary indicates he was later brought to Burlington for reburial. There is no record of this burial in Aspen Grove records, but it is presumed he was buried in the lot purchased by family friend James G. Edwards along with his mother and younger brother when they were removed from Smith Cemetery in Burlington.
