Larry A. Biester, 78, of Geneva, died December 4, 2023, in the Fairview Manor in Fairmont after battling the effects of a stroke.

Larry was born on April 7, 1945, in Geneva to Alvin Christian & Clara Anna (Jansen) Biester and was raised on the family farm where he lived until his health forced him to move. He was ready to take over the farm before he could even reach the pedals of the tractor.

He was a lifetime member of Grace Lutheran Church in Geneva where he was baptized and confirmed. Larry excelled in athletics and academics in high school and graduated from Geneva High School with the class of 1963.

While Larry was in high school, he met the love of his life, Maradeth Kinder. They were married on August 14, 1962. To this union three children were born: Michelle, Lorrie, and Todd.

Larry accepted his role as father and husband at a young age and remained a devoted father and husband. He and Maradeth liked to travel with the Pork Producers and Young Farmers. He made numerous friends in these endeavors and kept in touch with them in the years to come.

Larry was a stranger to no one. Throughout the years he made friends with everyone in the grocery store, the pharmacy and literally anywhere Maradeth sent him to run errands. He made it a purpose to put a smile on everyone's face and he succeeded.

In April of 1983, Larry accepted the role as a grandpa. This role he took very seriously. It was his new journey in life, and he never failed. He eventually had 10 grandchildren and loved them all with his might. His name had gone from Larry, to dad, to Grandpa.

Grandpa made sure to not miss any game or activity his grandkids were in. He put many, many miles on their vehicle. As if his grandkids didn't keep him busy enough, he and Maradeth were season ticket holders for the Tri City Storm. There wasn't a lot that slowed these two down.

Larry suffered a stroke at the end of July of 2023. He fought extremely hard with his battles as he was instilled in his kids and grandkids "Biesters never give up". He tried with all his might, but the good lord had said it was time for him to come home.

His legacy will live on through his kids, grandkids, and great grand kids.

Larry is survived by his loving wife of 61 years; his children and their spouses; his grandchildren and great-grandchildren; his 2 sisters; his 2 brothers-in-law and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Larry is preceded in death by his parents; sisters Sharon Wiese, Jo Ann Chapman, and granddaughter Paris Kindera Yank.

Celebration of Life service will be 10:30 am Friday, December 15, 2023, at Grace Lutheran Church, 434 N 16th St, Geneva, NE. Inurnment in Geneva Public Cemetery.
