Gloria Ruth Wians Qualman 1929-2023

Gloria Ruth Qualman, 94, Algoma, passed away with her family at her side, Saturday, December 30, 2023, at Autumn's Journey. She was born April 9, 1929, in Gillett, WI. to the Rev. Erich and Frieda (Westphal) Wians. Gloria was the only daughter among six brothers.
Gloria was a graduate of the Gillett High School. Gloria moved to Chicago where she worked for the Illinois Telephone Company and Checkerway Charter Coach Company.
After her dad was called to preach at St. John's Lutheran Church in Rankin, Gloria moved back to the Algoma area where she met and married Vernon Sibilsky on August 10, 1950, at St. John's Church, and were blessed with four children, Lee, Randy, Sheri and Lori. They eventually divorced.
Gloria worked for the Farmer Store, Algoma Plywood until they closed, then she went to Wautlet's Bakery, Jags and finally at Harmann Studios where she retired in 1988, doing bookkeeping for all of these companies.
In 1988, she married Edward Qualman at St. John's Church, and he preceded her in death in 2007. Gloria started working part time at the Wisconsin Label Co. from 2001 until 2011, when she retired again.
Gloria is survived by her four children Lee (Mary) Sibilsky, Randy (Kim) Sibilsky, Sheri (Tom) Ackerman and Lori (Pete) Porn; seven grandchildren Amanda (Brandon), Jessica (Alex) Aaron (Courtney), Alex, Eric (Anna), Matthew (Brittany) and Marissa; seven great grandchildren Kaiden, Hailey, Gavin, Makenna, Brady, Ariella and Ellie; step children Terry (Pat) Qualman and Susan Demeny, step grandchildren Jenny (Jeremy), Brian and Corie; one brother Duane (Sigrid) Wians, sister-in-law Joyce Wians; Nieces and Nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands Vernon and Edward, stepdaughter Jane Denault, five brothers and three sisters-in-law Wilbert (Alice) Wians, Eric Wians, Melvin (Janice) Wians, Edward Wians and Lowell (Caroline) Wians.
Visitation for Gloria will be Thursday, January 4, 2024, from 9:00 AM until the time of services at 11:00 AM at St. John's Lutheran Church, Rankin with Rev Dr. Christopher Jackson officiating. Burial in the church cemetery.
The family wants to give a very special thank you to Jenny and her most supportive and amazing staff at Autumn's Journey for the care given to Gloria and her family.
In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, the family ask that donations go to St. John's Church or the charity of your choice.
