He was born in Providence, a son of the late Alfred Bryda and Dorothy Kokanoski. Alfred was a laundry attendant at the R.I. Medical Center General Hospital in Cranston for many years. He loved to travel, was a devoted Red Sox fan, sitting by the camp fire at Johnson Pond and loved his chicken and ribs.
He leaves two daughters, Deborah Cannon and husband, David of Coventry and Brenda DeBarros and companion, Craig Nadeau of West Warwick; a son, Kenneth Bryda of Vietnam; and a stepson, Michael Labrecque and wife, Lori of Florida. He was the loving grandfather of eight grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren and uncle of Joseph Edwards. He was the brother of the late Janet Forge and Nancy Edwards.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, November 25, 2023 from 10-11 am in the Potvin-Quinn Funeral Home, 45 Curson Street, West Warwick followed by a funeral prayer service at 11 am in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow in the Highland Park Cemetery in Johnston.
