IN MEMORIAM:

After a short but serious illness Edward Lorenz fell asleep and 2 o'clock Thursday morning, January 1, 1901. He leaves a wife and five children and a number of relative and friends to mourn his death.

Edward Lorenz was born in Wahlbach, Germany on August 25, 1845. In 1872 he left Germany and came to Fulton in 1873 and in 1874 he was married to Mrs. Pauline Weth.

He has been engaged in the Brewing business in Fulton for a number of years and those that knew him best are the ones that knew of the many good qualities which he possessed. He was always willing and ready to help in all charitable enterprises and no one that ever went to him in the time of need or in distress was sent away empty or dissatisfied. He was a tender and ever loving father and husband and a kind and true friend to all. In his business life he was well liked by all who had dealings with him and was always sociable and obliging to all with whom he came in contact.

Fulton has lost one of her best citizens and he will be missed by all, but what can fill the vacancy. The desolation caused by his death, in the heart of her, his loving and devoted wife who has stood by him so faithfully at all times, sharing his joys and sorrows alike. In sickness she was his comfort, in health she was never so happy as when doing something for his comfort and to make him happy. The children will never again hear the loving voice nor the always looked for footfall of the dear father who has ever watched over and loved them so fondly. The kind friends, who were so willing and ready to watch by his bedside and attend to his wants, will miss the pleasant companionship and daily intercourse with him, which has ever been a pleasure to us. But the Lord gave and the Lord hath taken away, Blessed be the name of the Lord.

May Heaven's richest blessings rest upon and comfort the bereaved family and brother.

Oh how sweet it will be in that beautiful land;
So free from all sorrow and pain, With songs on our lips and with harps in our hands,
to meet one another, again.
A Friend.
