Terry Beecher, 55, died Friday, April 25, 2008.

Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Washington Avenue Christian Church with the Rev. Jim Shelburne officiating. Private family burial will be by Cox-LaGrone Funeral Home, 4180 Canyon Drive.

Terry was born Oct. 1, 1952, in Portland, Ore., where she was raised and graduated from high school. She served in the U.S. Army from 1971 until 1977. She married Rick Beecher on Sept. 16, 1974, in Bellevue, Iowa. They moved to Amarillo in 1979, where she received her associate degree from Amarillo College. She worked as a USPS letter carrier in Amarillo for more than 20 years.

Terry enjoyed collecting Candlewick dishes, quilting and crocheting. Most of all, she loved being "Nannu" to her family and grandchildren. She was a member of the American Legion, as well as a member of the Disabled American Veterans. She was active with her husband at the Khiva Shrine Center. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends who loved her very much.

Survivors include her husband, Rick Beecher; a daughter, Jennifer Beecher of Amarillo; a son, Tim Beecher and wife Jennifer of Amarillo; two grandchildren, Trey Beecher and Jackson Beecher; and a brother, Tim Wilson of Sandy, Ore.

The family suggests memorials be to Travel Fund, Khiva Shrine Temple, P.O. Box 328, Amarillo, TX 79105.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
