OSWEGO -- Lilla Havis "Avis" L. Knopp, a resident of 166 W. Third St., Apt. A, Oswego, died Nov. 6, 2004 at the Oswego Hospital.
Born in Vicksburg, Miss., she was the daughter of the late John and Lilla (Thayer) Slayton.
She came to Oswego in 1957. She was a clerk at Wayne's Drug Store for many years.
Her life revolved around making people happy. She loved to dance and laugh. She enjoyed her family, friends, and grandchildren.
Surviving are one daughter; Cindy (Bob) Bellomo of Scriba; two sons, Dan and Allen Knopp, both of Salt Lake City, Utah; and four grandchildren, Bob Bellomo, Emily Bellomo, Matthew Bellomo, and Kassie Knopp.
She was predeceased by her husband, Francis Stephen Knopp, an Oswego fireman.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday at Nelson Funeral Home.
Calling hours will be held 4-7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home, 124 W. Fifth St., Oswego.

"Havis had lived in Oswego New York for the last 47 years of her life. She was married to Stephen Knopp who passed away after 12 years of marriage. Havis raised three children: Cynthia, Daniel, and Allen Knopp. My mother was a very warm energetic person, always involved in civic events, and working full time as a beauty consultant for Wayne's Drugs.
Raising three children on her own, she more that succeeded in giving us a very rich life. I work for a Hospital in the telecommunication field, My brother Dan owns a resort hotel and restaurant, Silver Fork Lodge, Big Cottonwood Canyon Road, near Salt Lake City, Utah. (He‘s a big skier. Allen works for Frito Lay Corporation in Sales. We miss our mother daily, and wanted her classmates to rejoice in her life.
