VIRGINIA G. BENZ FOSTER (NEE RAMSEY)
LAGRANGE, GEORGIA -- Virginia G. Benz Foster, nee Ramsey, age 93 of LaGrange, Georgia for the past eight years, formerly of Wanatah, passed away on Saturday, April 1, 2006 in LaGrange. She was born October 19, 1912 in Waverly, West Virginia, the daughter of John Henry and Ellen (Williams) Ramsey, graduated from LaPorte High School and Indiana University and had been a registered nurse. She had also been an organist and pianist and enjoyed knitting. On November 29, 1934 in LaPorte, she married Dr. Owen Benz, who preceded her in death on December 7, 1975. On October 14, 1977 she married Charles M. Foster who preceded her in death in 1993.
Virginia is survived by two children: Audrey (Ken) Mohlke of Wanatah, Gerald (Joan) Benz of LaGrange, GA; four grandchildren: Sally (Scott) Safranski, John (Theresa) Mohlke, Laurie (Jeff) Brandenberg, Steven (Diann) Benz; six great-grandchildren: John and Joanna Brandenberg, Greg and Josh Mohlke, Kent and Stuart Safranski; one niece and two nephews. In addition to her two husbands, she was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Clara Hewlett.
There will be no visitation. Cremation will take place in Georgia. A memorial service will be held in the future.
