Ethelene was born in McCaysville GA and was a twin of Arthur. She trained as a nurse in Knoxville TN then moved to Dayton, Ohio to live with her brother Arthur and his wife Alma. She met Whitney Pellow, one of Arthur's best friends, and married him on October 28, 1930. Ethelene and Whitney had two daughters, Genevieve and Geraldine. Geraldine died at age one. Ethelene, along with her sisters Edna and Elizabeth, owned Stilhaven Nursing Home in Dayton Ohio. Ethelene was the bookkeeper. Ethelene and Whitney retired and moved to Hernando County, Florida in 1972. Ethelene died there in 1998.
