Obit--Peter Jantz, 61, whose home was on route 1, Emma Township, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Estella Brenneman, 805 West Tenth street, Sunday morning at 9:20. Mr. Jantz was born in McPherson county, and had lived on his home place in Emma Township 32 years. He is survived by his wife and children as follows: Mrs. Estella Brenneman, Miss Mary Jantz, Naomi Jantz and Lawrence Jantz all of Newton; Liet. Leota E. Jantz, an army nurse in England; Pfc. Ephrain Jantz, in the army in France; Charles Jantz with the merchant marine in the Pacific. Alsa brothers and sisters as follows: Abe, Webb City, Mo.; Dan and Ezra, Hesston, Emil, Walton; Jones, Moundridge; Mrs. Eva Fisk, Newton and Mrs. Magie Holdeman, Crowley, La. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 18. A short service will be held for the family at the Moody Funeral Chapel, at 1:45 with Rev. Earl Buckwaler in charge, followed by services at the Church of the Nazarene at 2:30 with Rev. Harold W. Reed in Charge. He was a member of the East Emma church. Burial will be made in the family lot in the Pennsylvania cemetery north of Zimmerdale.
