Resident of this Community Died of Heart Failure While Living with Her Son, Mike Kainz
Last Thursday relatives of Mrs. Anna Kainz residing here, were informed of her death which had occurred at 4 o'clock that morning at the home of her son Mike Kainz, at Hope, North Dakota. She had been ill all winter due to heart trouble which also was the cause of her death.
Anna Koppe was born at Walla, Germany, January 6, 1853, and lived to be over 79 years of age. Her childhood days were spent in Germany and she was married there to Andrew Kainz about 55 years ago. In 1879 Mr. and Mrs. Kainz immigrated to this country and for one year they resided at St. Martin, this state, after which they came to Pierz and settled on the farm 5 miles northwest of Pierz, now the Henry Boser farm. The greatest part of their lives was spent on their farm here and upon retiring, they moved to this village about 15 years ago. Mr. Kainz died in October 1929. Since that time Mrs. Kainz has been making her home with the children and last November she left for Dakota.
Mrs. Kainz has gained many friends during her life here, who remember her as a kind old lady, and who regret very much her passing away.
The surviving children are as follows: Mrs. Henry Nolting and Mike Kainz who reside at Hope, ND, Joe Kainz of Little Falls, Andrew of Platte, Mrs. Lawrence Boser of Lastrup, Mrs. Joseph Boser of Onamia, Mrs. Geo. Deutsch of Minneapolis and Mrs. Loy B. Evans of Los Angeles, Cal.
The remains were shipped to Little Falls to the home of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Kainz where funeral rites took place Monday morning after which burial service was held in St. Joseph church here at ten o'clock and the remains laid to rest in the local cemetery. All of the children of the deceased were present at the funeral except Mrs. Evans of California.
