Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Marys Catholic Church for Julia Begler, 83, who died May 8 at St. Anthony Hospital, Hays. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Begler was born June 15, 1895 in Marienthal, the daughter of John P. and Mary Reichmeier Riedel.

She was a lifetime area resident and spent her last years as a resident of the Good Samaritan Center. Mrs. Begler was a member of St. Marys Church and the Christian Mothers.

She married George Begler in 1924 in Ellis. He died in 1957.

She was preceded in death also by three sons, George Belger, John Belger and Richard Sawazhki.

Survivors are five daughters, Mary Giebler, Hays, Ann Evans, Mary Waldschmidt, Mrs. Alolph Riedel and Mrs. Clarence Schaefer, all of Denver; six sons, Ted A., Andy and Jacob Begler, all of Ellis, and Henry G., Peter and Conrad Begler, all of Denver. Three sisters, Mrs. Andrew Pfeifer and Mrs. Celestine Dreiling, both of Ellis, and Mrs. Clarence Harris, Houston, Tex.; two brothers, Joseph Riedel, Kimberly, Wisc., and Martin Riedel, Detroit, Mich.; 69 grandchildren, 101 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren also survive her.
