She was born on Feb. 3, 1914, to Wilhelm and Henretta (Herzog) Riedel at Parkers Prairie, Minn., where she graduated. She attended the Lutheran Bible Institute in Minneapolis while working as a cook, housekeeper and nanny. She had also cooked for Father Flannigan of Boys Town.
She married Clyde Eugene Blodgett on July 21, 1944, at Salt Lake City. They lived in Oregon, Wyoming, Montana and Minnesota before moving to East Wenatchee in 1975.
Mrs. Blodgett was a member of Foothills Foursquare Church. She was a life member of the Disabled American Veteran Auxiliary, and was involved in the 4-H Club.
She is survived by a son, David of East Wenatchee; a daughter, Mary Ann of East Wenatchee; two brothers, Herbert Riedel of Ottuma, Iowa, and Randall Riedel of Deer Creek, Minn.; two sisters, Adele Nelson of Comstock, Minn., and twin sister Tina Holteen of Parkers Prairie, Minn; and two grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1982, two brothers and a sister.
