Anna L. "Ann" Pfannenstiel, 81, died Tuesday, Aug. 22, 2000, at Hays Good Samaritan Center. She was born Nov. 28, 1918, in Park to Peter and Leokadia (Waldman) Ziegler.

She married Alvin Pfannenstiel on Sept. 4, 1946, in Collyer.

She was a longtime employee of the Q-Motel, Quinter. She was a homemaker and farmed with her husband. She was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, Hays.

Survivors include her husband, Hays; a son, Tim, Wichita; a daughter, Jan Lyons, Silt, Colo.; four brothers, Julius Ziegler, Pius Ziegler, and Leo Ziegler, all of Collyer, and Robert Ziegler, Hays; a sister, Elfrieda Heimerman, Colwich; and four grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her sisters, Albina Zerr, Fidelia Snider, Ida Snider, and an infant, Lorena Ziegler.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church with Father Don Zimmerman officiating; burial in St. Joseph Cemetery, Hays. A parish vigil will be at 7 p.m. today at Hays Memorial Chapel Funeral Home, 20th and Pine. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today and from 9 to 9:45 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Memorials are suggested to the Hays Good Samaritan Center Alzheimer´s Unit or for Masses.
