Born January 27, 1917 in Toluca, Illinois, Maurine was a daughter of the late Vivian and Rose Zima-Ball.
She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Wilmington; volunteered for Kuzma Care Cottage and was an election judge for many years. Maurine was a former bookkeeper for Whitmore Cassingham's Hardware Store and then was a purchaser for UniRoyal. In the 1940's Maurine was trained by State Farm Insurance as one of the first computer operators. In her free time Maurine greatly enjoyed baking for the Ladies Guild of the Church.
Maurine was preceded in death by her parents; husband E.L. "Pete" Mayne (1981), one sister Barbara Volk and one brother Richard W. Ball.
