Services are today for Ervin E Eggers, 74, of State Center who died Monday at the Mary Greeley Hospital in Ames. The Rev Marvin Flanscha will be in charge at St John's Lutheran Church. Burial will follow in Hillside Cemetery.

Mr Eggers was born on December 10, 1907 at State Center, son of August and Anna Riemenschneider Eggers. He was educated in St John's Parochial Schools.

He was married March 4, 1926 to Marie Fricke at State Center, and the couple farmed in Marshall and Story counties until retiring to Colo in 1963. He came to State Center in 1980.

He was a member of St John's Lutheran Church and served several years on church board and engaged in cattle and seed corn business.

Survivors besides the widow, are five sons: Vernon Eggers of Zearing; Merle Eggers of Ames; Reuben Eggers of Rapid City, SD; and Glen Eggers and Elmer Eggers, both of State Center; one daughter, Mrs Ramona (Roscoe) Milleson of Colo; a brother, Marvin Eggers of State Center; two sisters, Mrs Wynema Malfedlt and Mrs Verneda Eggers, both of Wheat Ridge, Colorado; 21 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, a granddaughter and a great great granddaughter.
