Paul M. Bellendier, 81, died Monday, Jan. 5, 2004, in Covenant Medical Center, Waterloo, following a long illness.
Services: 10:30 a.m. Friday, St. John's Catholic Church, Independence, by Father Al Vorwald. Burial: St. John's Cemetery. Friends may call at White Funeral Home after 6 p.m. Wednesday, with a military memorial service at 7 p.m.; and after 2 p.m. Thursday, with a parish rosary at 3 p.m., a vigil service at 7 p.m. and a Knights of Columbus rosary at 8 p.m.
Survivors include his wife, Henrietta; five sons, Thomas of Independence, James of Lakeland, Fla., David of Marion, Ronald of Burnsville, Minn., and Donald of Scottsdale, Ariz.; two brothers, Ed Bellendier of Harbor City, Calif., and Andy Bellendier of Maquoketa; and two sisters, Agnes Weissinger of Omaha, Neb., and Frances Wendling of Independence.
