MRS. MARIE L. MORROW, 68, of 315 N. Grant St., wife of Frederick E. Morrow, died at 5:30 a.m. today, Sept. 1, in the Waynesboro Hospital. She had been critically ill since being admitted to the hospital for surgery on Aug. 14.
Born May 10, 1919 in Warfordsburg, she was a daughter of the late J. Frank and Ida L. (Markle) Hess. She lived her early life in Fulton County and was a 1939 graduate of McConnellsburg High School.
She and her husband had lived at the present residence since their marriage in July 1948.
Prior to her retirement in 1984, Mrs. Morrow was employed as a supervisor at the Wayne Sportswear Co. for 36 years.
She was a member of the Waynesboro Church of the Brethren and the Widdowson Bible Class of the church.
She was also a member of the Cross Keys Brethren Home Auxiliary and the National AARP.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons, Frederick E. Morrow Jr., Midland, Texas, and Dwight W. Morrow, Waynesboro; two grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Marian Sprenkle, Windsor; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Services will be held Friday at 11 A.M. in the Waynesboro Church of the Brethren, with the Rev. Edward Poling officiating. Burial will be in Union Cemetery near McConnellsburg.
Friends may call at the Grove Funeral Home from 7 to 9 p.m. on Thursday.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Waynesboro Church of the Brethren, 117 S. Church St., Waynesboro, Pa. 17268.
