Mrs Edel was born Mary Hoffman in Cleveland, Ohio and was 55 years old. She became the wife of Matthew Edel at Iowa City and Mr Edel brought his bride to Haverhill where he had settled two years before. In addition to her husband Mrs Edel is survived by seven sons and one daughter. They are Joseph Edel, a farmer living near Luray; Tony, John, Martin, Albert, Louis, Leo and Mary, all of whom are at home. There also survives Mrs Edel two brothers and two sisters in the person of Jacob and Martin Hoffman and Mrs Grace Rohret of Iowa City and Mrs Lizzie Stewart whose home is in Michigan.
