PETER OWEN OWENS son of Hobson Owen and Elizabeth Troxel.

The name appears to have transitioned from Owen to Owens over time for some of this family. Note tombstone for Peter is as "Owens". He is "Owen" 1850-70 census and on military pension record, and Owens 1880 and 1900 census.

Peter married Catherine Melissa Frakes May 12 1858.

Soon after Catherine's death in Apr 1883, Peter married Anna "Annie" Hamilton Oct 22 1883. Annie had 3 of 3 children living as of 1900 census, not known if Peter was father or if they were from an earlier marriage.

ALERT - do not confuse with: 1860, E. Wayne IL census finds another Peter Owen, same age (21), son of Johnson and Mary E Owen. Peter is the oldest of the 9 children reported in the census and he also served in Civil War, Co G, Ill 18th Inf. He died in service 1862.
