Sarah Grote
GLEN ROCK – Sarah Werner Grote, 89, Glen Rock RD 1, died Wednesday morning at York Hospital. She was the widow of George R. Grote.
The services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Geiple Funeral Home, Glen Rock, with burial to follow in St. Jacob's (Stone) Church Cemetery. Viewing will be Thursday evening from 7 to 9.
Mrs. Grote was born in Codorus Township and was the daughter of the late Adam and Rosa Hoff Werner.
A life-long resident of the Glenville and Brodbeck area, she was a member of the Lutheran congregation of St. Jacob's (Stone) Church and Jefferson Fire Co. auxiliary.
Survivors include four children, Hannah M. Grote, Glen Rock, Mrs. Rosa J. Bortner, Codorus, Mrs. Cora L. Wagner, Shrewsbury, and George A. Grote, Glen Rock. Also, 12 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren, 11 great-great-grandchildren and a sister, Mrs. Jennie Kendig, 19 S. Clinton St., York.
The Rev. Richard C. Weaver will officiate.
