Louis Edward Laun, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ewald Laun, was born March 30, 1875, in Ulster township, Floyd county, Iowa, and passed away from this life, after an illness of almost fourteeh months, on June 21, 1936 at the age of 61 years, 2months, 21 days. He grew to manhood on the home farm and on May 26, 1898 was united in marriage to Lena Dusenberg. Foug children were born to this union, two of them dying in infancy. He moved with his bride to Rockford, Iowa where he kept a store for five years. He later moved to the farm and in 1928 he moved to Charles City where he resided until his disease.
