Mrs. Caroline Thomas Jantz, daughter of Peter and Helena Unruh Thomas, was born in Karolswalde, Poland, Russia, August 17, 1874, just about a month before the great exodus to America.

With her parents she came to Moundridge, Kansas, where she spent her girlhood days.

August 17, 1891, she was baptized by Elder Johann Ratzlaff, when she joined the Mennonite church at that place.

November 23, 1891, she married Carl T. Jantz with whom she has shared joy and sorrow for over 47 years.

In 1908 she with her family came to Major Co., Okla., where they lived north of Ringwood and in Meno.

With her coming to this place she also transferred her membership to the New Hopedale Church, of which she has been a faithful member to her end.

Children born to her are one daughter and three sons.

She leaves to mourn her death: her bereaved husband, daughter Dinah (Mrs. Joe Buller) of Goltry; sons, Otis of Byron, Dan of Meno and Ferd of Goltry; 29 grandchildren, 4 of whom preceded her in death, and 3 great-grandchildren.

Besides the immediate family she leaves 2 brothers: Cornelius of Cement, Okla., Benjamin of Ringwood, Okla.,; three sisters: Mrs. Elizabeth Jantz, Carnegie, Okla.; Mrs. Eva Wedel, Ringwood, Okla.; and Mrs. Mary Rink, Edgar, Wisconsin.

She became seriously ill only a few weeks ago and suffered considerable since then. But in all of her suffering her trust was in her Lord and Saviour Jesus. she has left for us the hope that she has gone to be with Him.

On May 14, 1939, she passed away and departed at the age of 64 years, 8 months and 27 days.
