He was born in Marion County, IN on February 20, 1928 to Alva and Madge (Alverson) Vielhaber.
Robert was a Navy Veteran serving during WWII. He was the former owner of Star Foods in Indianapolis. Robert was a member of the United Church of God in Greenwood.
Mr. Vielhaber is survived by his wife of 51 years, Virginia (Wheatcraft) Vielhaber, son Dan Vielhaber of Indianapolis, daughter Julie(Jerry) Kendall of Anderson, brother James Vielhaber of Raleigh, NC, three daughters from a previous marriage, Marsha Franklin, Susan Phenix and Theresa Raley, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents and a brother Martin Vielhaber.
Funeral services will be 1 pm, Monday, November 10, 2008 at West & Parrish & Pedigo Funeral Home in Spencer. Pastor Darris McNeely will officiate. Burial will follow at Hudson Hill Cemetery in Owen County.
