Leola Springer passed away in her home February 15, 1999. She was 75.
Leola was born June 25, 1923 to Sara Goss Cuddy and Tom Cuddy in Fruita and was a life time resident. She attended school in Fruita and graduated in 1941, and went on to Denver to business college. She worked at Buckley Field until the end of World War II and returned to the Fruita area. In August of 1946, she married Mike Springer and moved to Grand Junction and became a wonderful mother and house wife. She was proud of her family. She was a strong willed, caring lady with a heart of gold. A loved wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She will be missed by all whose hearts she touched.
She enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, working on her prize winning afghans and different types of needlework. She also enjoyed animals, especially horses. She would often visit her son's farm in Loma to spoil the horses and dogs.
Survivors include her husband, Mike; a brother, John Cuddy of Fruita; two sons and daughters-in-law, Bill and Sue Springer of Atlanta, Georgia, and John and Karen Springer of Loma; and two grandchildren, Josh and Sara.
She is preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Ellen and Alice; and one son, Kirk.
Graveside services will be held Thursday, February 18, 1999 at 2:00 p.m. at the Grand Junction Memorial Gardens, 2970 North Ave., Grand Junction.
