MRS. LIZZIE ROTH - Funeral services for Mrs. Lizzie Roth a former Guttenberg woman were held Monday morning at Carroll, Iowa. She died at her home there Thursday following a lingering illness.

She was a daughter of John B. and Maria A. Tieke and was born at Guttenberg on September 18, 1862. On Jan. 24, 1881 she was married to Frank X. Roth, of Templeton, Iowa. They resided on a farm in that community until 20 years ago when they moved to Carroll to live. Her husband preceded her in death on Feb. 13, 1926.

The surviving children are: Ben T. Roth, of Geddes, S. D., Peter L. Roth, of Breda, Iowa, Mrs. Joseph Heitman and Mrs. Albert Schoeppner, of Templeton. She also leaves one brother, Ben Tieke, of Dubuque, and three sisters, Mrs. Mary Pink and Mrs. Ben Lake, of Guttenberg, and Mrs. Anna Koopman, of Dyersville.

Funeral services were held from St. Peter and Paul's church with interment being made in St. Peter and Paul's cemetery, of Carroll. Requiem mass was read by Rev. Schenkelberg.

Relatives from a distance who attended the funeral were: Ben Roth and daughter Loretta, of Geddes, S.D.; Peter Roth and family, of Breda; Al J, Lake; Mrs. Ben Lake and daughter Helen, of Guttenberg; Mr. and Mrs. Ben Tieke of Dubuque, Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Tieke, of Dubuque; Mrs. Anna Koopman and Mrs. Frank Steger, of Dyersville; Joe Roth, of Hartington, Nebr.; Sylvester Roth, of Fordyce, Nebr; Wm Roth, of Geddes, S.D.; Mr. and Mrs. Joe Jeithoff (sic/Heithoff), Mr. and Mrs. Albert Schoeppner, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. New, Mrs. Mary Bern, Joe and John Roth, Mr. and Mrs. Taphorn and Mr. and Mrs. Perry New, all of Templeton; Rev. Otto Deuthaug of Sac City, and Jake Uehle of Danbury.
