Marie, the eldest daughter of Hoken and Myrtle Erickson, was born June 16, 1921 in Amery, Wis.
She married Rupert E. Anderson and they made their home in Superior.
Marie was a longtime active member of Zion Lutheran Church for over sixty years and a member of the Martha Circle for many years. She was also a member of the Merry Mates Homemaker's Club for over thirty years and the Douglas County Homemaker's Extension. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, and craft work and enjoyed helping out at Anderson's Greenhouse in Brule during the summer months.
Marie was preceded in death by Rupert, her husband of 58 years; her parents; and siblings, Lois Cole and Ethel Midbon.
She is survived by three children, Jeanne (Lewis) Kubicek of Flandreau, S.D., Carol Sharpe of Cambridge, Minn., Donald (Cindy) Anderson of Superior; three grandchildren, Ryan and Whitney Sharpe and Anthony Anderson. Marie is also survived by brothers, Harvey (Ada) Erickson, Russell (Phyllis) Erickson; sisters, Shirley (Ron) Peterson, all of Superior and Linda (Ralph) Coon of Olympia, Wash.
Marie was a loving, wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend and will be truly missed by all who knew her.
VISITATION: will begin at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 25, 2008 until the 11:30 a.m. Funeral Service in Zion Lutheran Church with Pastor Patrick Ziems, officiating. Interment will be at Riverside Cemetery.
Pallbearers for the service will be Ray, Curt and Dale Midbon, Bob Benson, Scott Hansen and Pete Moe.
Lenroot-Maetzold Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
