Pat Cannon Boggus graduated to the presence of her Lord and Savior in her home at 9:15 a.m. Monday, Dec. 8, 2008. Her family and friends will have a graveside service at 10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 11, 2008, at Parklawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery on I-27 in Plainview followed by a service of celebration of her 81 years of life at 2 p.m. at Melonie Park Church in Lubbock at 66th Street and Indiana Avenue.

She was born Oct. 11, 1927, in Royston, Texas. She married Davis Cannon of Hale Center, Texas, on March 26, 1948. They lived on their farm, raising their three daughters. He preceded her in death in 1985. She married Garland Boggus on March 25, 1989, in Lubbock and they continued on the farm until he preceded her in death in 1999. She moved to Lubbock in 2001 where she found a church home at Melonie Park Church. She was the historian and scrapbook chairman for Pilot's Club, a women's service organization whose focus is fundraising for those with brain disorders.

She is survived by her three daughters, Jean Ann and Felix Hettler of Midland, Jo Donna Tucker, and Jana Beth and Barry Johnston, all of Lubbock; and a stepdaughter, Kathi and Hank Foresta of LaVerne, Calif. She had 11 grandchildren, Jason and Melissa Hettler, Lindsey Hettler and Davis Jones of Lubbock, Capt. Chris Hopkins, USMC, of 29Palms, Calif., Meredith Hopkins of Austin, Texas, Bethany and Clint Williamson of Dallas, Texas, Matthew Foresta of LaVerne, Calif., Robin and Jay Kemper, and Mindy and Brad Douglas of Lubbock. She is also survived by eight great-grandchildren.

Those who knew her have said that they had the wonderful experience of knowing a great, wise woman. It was stated that Pat was a great lady, a true saint and we will miss her right up until the time we see her again. Memorial tributes may be given to Vista Care Hospice, 1717 Norfolk Ave,�Lubbock, TX 79416; the American Heart Association National Center, 7272 Greenville Ave., Dallas, TX 75231; or a church fund of your choice.
