United States Army Sergant Torres was killed in action during the Tet Offensive. Robert served with Company C, 5th Battalion, 60th Infantry, 9th Infantry Division.

Robert is honored on the Vietnam Memorial Wall 37E046.

Robert was killed just one month after he arrived in Vietnam. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Angelo M. Torres. Robert attended Penn Treaty Junior High, was a 1965 graduate of Thomas Edison High School and had completed one year at Philadelphia Community College when he enlisted in the Army in March, 1966. Robert planned to become a pharmacist. Surviving with his parents are two brothers, Raul and Wilfred; a sister, Marie Kristine; a grandfather, Jose Torres; and a grandmother, Mrs. Micaela Ramos.
