Jess Farmer, who died last week at John Day Creek, was one of the oldest pioneers of Idaho County.

He was born in Arkansas to Samuel Farmer 1809-1898 b. Young County, Texas, and Elizabeth C. (Washington) Farmer 1812-1881
b. Cass, Stone County, Missouri.

He removed to California and later to Idaho, located in Warren in 1863. At the time of his death, Mr. Farmer was 82 years old.

The body was interred in John Day Cemetery, the Rev. Mr. Taber of Whitebird officiating.
