Funeral services for Mike Manos, 102, of 1325 Sage Street, Rock Springs, were held Wednesday, July 8, at the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church. The Rev. Lukas Kotzakis officiated.
A prayer service was conducted at 7 p.m. Tuesday, June 7, at the Vase Funeral Chapel. Burial was in the Rest Haven Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers were John Maragakis, Peter Vase, George Varras, Mike August, Joseph Gaviotis and Mungo Brown.
Mr. Manos died at 12:01 p.m. Sunday, July 5 at the Kimberly Manor Nursing Home.
A former longtime resident of Superior, and resident of Rock Springs since 1973, Mr. Manos had been in ill health the past three days. He was born in Melidoni Crete, Greece on Feb. 10, 1879, the son of the late George and Katherine Manos.
Mr. Manos was employed by the Union Pacific Coal Company as a miner until his retirement. He was a member of the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church and the United Mine Workers of America.
Survivors include his sister, Elpida Maragakis of Melidoni, Crete, Greece, one cousin, Nick Maragakis of Salt Lake City, Utah and several nieces and nephews.
