He was born March 19, 1936 in Topeka the son of Jacob Allendorf and Catherine Desch Allendorf. He serviced in the U.S. Army.
He married Sherry Duncan June 27, 1957. She preceded him in death. LaVern worked as a plumber for over 40 years. He was a lifetime member of the American Legion Post #400.
He is survived by two sons, Kevin Allendorf and Steve Allendorf, both of Topeka; a daughter, Tammie L. Reddick of Topeka; two sisters, Lucille Hill of Topeka and Darlene Chrysler of Riverside, CA; a granddaughter, Molly Mildfeldt and two great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Thursday, January 29, 2009 at 1:00 P.m. at the Davidson Funeral Home. Visitation will be Thursday from 11:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
Interment will be at the Rochester Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the LaVern Allendorf memorial fund and sent in care of the Davidson Funeral Home.
