Alice Amelia Kamem, daughter of Vincent Clema and Josephine nee Chartraw was born near Formosa, Canada on June 6, 1871, and died on July 10, 1950, after a lingering illness, at the age of 79 years 1 month and 4 days.
At the age of five, she with her parents and one brother and one sister, came to the United States. They settled in Table Rock, where at the age of seven her mother and sister passed away. At the age of nine her father remarried and they went to live on a farm about three miles northeast of Steinauer where she grew to young womanhood.
