Joseph Miller, 90 Dies In Accident
Joseph Miller, 90, of Table Rock, was fatally injured in a one-car accident in the southeast part of Beatrice early Tuesday afternoon, when his auto went off a gravel road near the Martin Luther Home and struck a light pole.
According to the attending physician at Beatrice, death was probably from a heart attack, either just before the crash, or as the result of the accident.
Mr. Miller had accompanied his son, Albert and wife, to a funeral at Beatrice Tuesday morning for a nephew, Ollie Miller, and had attended interment at the Pawnee City cemetery. On returning to Table Rock, Mr. Miller got into his won car, presumably to return to his farm, but instead had driven back to Beatrice.
The car was badly damaged in the accident, and Mr. Miller had injuries about the face.
Mr. Mille, who had observed his 90th birthday on March 7th, was a prominent farmer of this community, having lived here his entire life. His wife had passed away in January of 1958.
He is survived by his son, Albert and his wife of Table Rock, and a daughter, Mrs. Anna Hunt of Dalhart, Texas. Another daughter, Mrs. Joe Gyhra, preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be held from St. John's Catholic Church in Table Rock, Friday morning at 10:00 a.m., with the Rev. Gregory Petrus officiating. Interment will be made in St. Johns cemetery northeast of Table Rock. Rosary services were held at the Wherry Chapel Thursday evening.
