Frances was born the daughter of Joseph & Rosalia Pietsch in the village of Molletin, Austria. Here she had her early schooling, coming to America with her parents when she was 13 years old. The Pietsch family settled on a farm near Prairie Junction which is now Miloma. On June 28, 1887, Frances Pietsch and Adolph Ramert were married at Heron Lake. After their marriage they came to the Ramert homestead southeast of Fulda, now known as the "Evergreen Farm", and that was the family home until Adolf & Frances retired from the farm 18 years ago and moved into Fulda.

In their years on the farm, Adolf & Frances knew all the hardships of the pioneer and both worked hard and were economical and successful on the farm.

Frances was gentle, modest, and even tempered, devoted to her family, and never more pleased than when they were gathered about her.

Adolf & Frances were the parents of Adolph, Albert, William, Mary (Frank J.) Haberman, Anna (Herman J.) Haberman, and Frances (Joe) Lammers. One daughter, Philomine Wazlahowsky-Kummeth, died June 27, 1936.

Frances' siblings include Guido, Louise Appel, Mary Kruse, Frank, Joe, Louie, John, and Adolph.

Funeral services were conducted from St. Gabriel's Catholic Church, the Rev. Father Meyer officiating.
