Henry Reisbig, 79, Dies at Peoria, Illinois
Henry Reisbig, age 79, a resident of the Gridley community for almost sixty years, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs Kathryn Witzig of Peoria, Illinois. Mr Reisbig had been ill for about four months, becoming ill at his home east of Gridley and he was taken to the home of his daughter some weeks ago,
Funeral services for Henry Reisbig were held Sunday afternoon at Gridley and were in charge of Sam Anliker. A short service was held at the nome at 1:00 with a prayer and a song, "At Home 'Tis Well", At the church at 1:30 the songs "Endure and Be Still", "Sweet Hour of Prayer" and "Rest My Soul in Comfort" were sung. Casket bearers were: Henry J Ramsdell, Lloyd Reisbig, George Spencer, Imon Huber, Lewis Kraft and Frank Kraft. Interment was in the Apostolic Christian cemetery.
Henry Reisbig, eldest son of Katherine (Catherine KRAFT) and Henry Reisbig, was born in Rosenfeld, Russia, May 3, 1872 and passed away April 11, 1951 at the home of a daughter in Peoria, Illinois.
In 1892 on December 25, he was married to Anna Katherine HEGWALD in Russia. They came to the United States, making their home in Coffey County, near Gridley.
To their union nine children were born. Preceding him in death are his wife, two children, a sister and a brother. He was a faithful member of the Apostolic Christian church for around fifty years.
Surviving him are his seven children, Henry and Mary Reisbig of the home; Conrad Reisbig, Gridley; William Reisbig, Burlington; Mrs Walter Witzig, Mrs Charles Hybarger and Benjamin Reisbig of Peoria, Ill; a brother, Philip Reisbig, Kansas City, Kansas; nine grandchildren, two great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
He was a wonderful father and will be sadly missed by his many friends and family.

Henry is a son of Henry and Anna Katherine (Kraft) Reisbig. He married Anna Hegwalt (or Hegwald?) in Russia on 25 December 1892, coming to America and Gridley Kansas shortly thereafter. He died at the home of his daughter, Mrs Walter Witzig, in Peoria, Illinois. Children [nine]: Mrs Walter Witzig; Mrs Charles Hybarger, and Benjamin Reisbig all of Peoria, Illinois, Mary, Henry, and Conrad Reisbig of Gridley, Kansas, William of Burlington, Kansas, one son and one daughter deceased.
