Theodore "Ted" Hanschu, 79, retired farmer and custodian for the Marion School District, died Nov. 24 at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita.

The funeral will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, Dec. 4, at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Marion with pastor John A. Ryding officiating. Burial will be at Lewis Cemetery in Ramona.

He was born April 27, 1923, to Frederick and Katherine (Benhardt) Hanschu near Lost Springs. On May 4, 1947, he was married to Aileen (Bird) Hanschu, who survives.

He is also survived by one son, Steven of Emporia; one daughter, Linda Bradley of Topeka; one brother, Leonard Hanschu of Harligen, Texas; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

A memorial was established with Our Savior Lutheran Church.
