Son of Frederick and Katerine Bernhardt Hanschu. On Feb. 8, 1942, he married Lorene M. RIFFEL at Herington. She died Dec. 29, 1993. Survivors include: a daughter, Barbara Ann Mason; two brothers, Ted, Marion, and Leonard, Harlington, Texas; a sister, Irene Riffel, Herington; and two granddaughters, Melanie Oden and Heather Mason. He was preceded in death by three sisters, Alma Riffel, Frieda Benherdt and Carrie Buxman.
